Celebrating Women in Wine

In honor of Women's History Month, The Sweet July store in Oakland, CA hosted an interactive wine tasting in partnership with The Roots Fund, a non-profit with the mission of proving resources and financial support to the BIPOC wine community. The Wino Shop participated as a sponsor of the event.

The evening was full of great energy, delicious wine, and curated bites by Chef Michelle McQueen.

The event highlighted phenomenal women in wine including Ikimi Dubose, Executive Director of The Roots Fund, Aamira Garba, Founder of Lovelee Wines, Candace Keeton, Hospitality Manager of Brendel Wine, and Andrea Manrique, Roots Fund awardee.

All of the featured women wore shirts from The Wino Shop and raffle winners also received shirts in the goodies bags. Sweet July donated a portion of the sales from the event to support The Roots Fund initiatives.

Check out the flyer below to make a donation to The Roots Fund and to learn more about the other participating sponsors including Lovelee Wine, Brendel Wines, and La Fete Rosé.
